PICES calls for artists, announces new award

Phillip Island Contemporary Exhibition Space (PICES) has introduced a new Art Awards Program for its 2026-2027 Summer Exhibition Series, alongside the launch of a newly developed apply to exhibit page on its website.

Made possible through the generous support of an anonymous donor, the annual Art Awards Program will recognise artistic excellence and audience engagement across the exhibition program.

The awards will include:

*Contempora 1 Art Award and Contempora 2 Art Award - $500 each

*People's Choice Awards - $350 for each Contempora exhibition, inviting visitors to vote for their favourite artwork

*A small works Award of $300 - selected by the PICES hanging team

Applications open

Applications to exhibit in the 2026-2027 Summer Exhibitions open today, July 1, with opportunities available in both the small works exhibition and the curated Contempora 1 and Contempora 2 exhibitions.

A newly developed 'apply to exhibit' page is available on the PICES website, providing artists with: online application forms, downloadable conditions of entry, and clear guidelines for participation.

Small works offers an open entry opportunity for artists at all stages of their practice, while Contempora provides a curated exhibition pathway through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process.

PICES continues to build a dynamic and engaging exhibition program, offering artists the opportunity to present their work in a professional gallery environment at the Berninneit Art Gallery in Cowes, while connecting with a broad and appreciative audience.

Artists are encouraged to read all conditions carefully prior to submitting an application.

PICES welcomes both new and returning artists.
