WEDNESDAY, JULY 21
For the second day in a row, viral fragments have been detected overnight in the wastewater on Phillip Island.
As a result, Minister for Health Martin Foley today urged the local community to continue to come forward and be tested.
Mr Foley said the original cases associated with Phillip Island have all returned to Melbourne, which "makes us believe there are undetected cases in the area".
He applauded the San Remo and Phillip Island community for their efforts so far, and gave a big shout out to Bass Coast Health.
Brett Sutton said there were currently 803 primary close contacts in isolation or quarantine in Bass Coast.
To date, over 70 per cent of local test results have been returned. There are currently no active cases recorded in the region.
Test sites
The Cowes Drive Through site will run from 7am to 5pm today, as will Wonthaggi.
Due to the inclement weather, the Cowes Walk-In site has been moved from the Anglican Church, to the Phillip Island Leisure Centre at 10-14 Church Street in Cowes.
It opened at 10am this morning and will run through until 6pm, then from Thursday through to Monday, it will open from 8am - 6pm.
The San Remo Drive Through is not operating today (Wednesday), due to weather-related issues.
Ongoing opening times for both Cowes and San Remo drive through sites will be reviewed and updated on the Bass Coast Health website and Facebook page.
