Current public transport on Phillip Island and across Bass Coast fails to meet resident needs, councillors have heard.

"It's the State (Government) that is simply not listening to regional communities, increasing our population without providing the necessary services and infrastructure to support it," said a councillor last week. Improved public transport would help ease congestion.
