Brothers shine in resounding win over Dalyston

On an important day for Phillip Island after taking down ladder leaders last week a new challenge in Dalyston awaited.

Dalyston were running a Fight MND charity day and Phillip Island fully invested in helping raise money for an incredible cause. U16s Coach Brendan Cashman, U18s Coach Scott Huther, Senior Coaching panel Cameron Pedersen, Daniel Larsson and Damien Holmes all went into the dunking machine to raise vital funds.

From the outset, Phillip Island demonstrated their intent, launching a relentless assault on the opposition.

With a formidable lineup boasting the talent of five sets of brothers, namely the Taylors, Bruces, Patullos, Kleverkamps and Waltons, Phillip Island showcased the power to send home nine goals to one in the first quarter.

Daniel Pearce and Aaron Harris spearheaded the defensive efforts, thwarting Dalyston's advances and fortifying Phillip Island's stronghold. Their resolute performance stifled Dalyston's scoring opportunities, ensuring Phillip Island kept a resounding lead.

At halftime, Phillip Island had surged ahead, amassing a commanding 86 to 13 lead, leaving Dalyston reeling in their wake. However, the game was far from over and the third quarter witnessed a resurgence of intensity as both sides traded goals.

Max Walton materialised as a standout performer, dominating the midfield contributing three goals to Phillip Island's tally.

The Bruce brothers continued to assert their authority, while Jordy Patullo showcased his prowess with remarkable long-range goals, leaving the opposition in awe.

As the final siren sounded, Phillip Island emerged triumphant securing a decisive victory with a final scoreline of 153 to 47.

Their comprehensive performance, fuelled by the collective brilliance of the brothers-in-arms sees Phillip Island moving towards the pointy end of the ladder.
