Substantial increase in Bass Coast Shire rates’ bill, after unexpected quadrupling of the garbage charge fee.

Rates pain, little gain in shire budget
Last year’s budget stated the 23/24 garbage charge would see an increase of three per cent. Instead, it will quadruple to an 11.9 per cent increase. When the Advertiser asked the shire a range of questions about the garbage charge hike, a spokesperson responded “we don't have any additional information to share”.
