Upgrades by Phillip Island Nature Parks of the wetland boardwalk and adjoining travel trails at Rhyll Inlet are now open to the public.

Trail users can enjoy an improved nature experience at the Rhyll Inlet with a section of upgrades completed by Phillip Island Nature Parks and the wetland boardwalk and adjoining travel trails now open to the public.

Further improvements are underway for the McIlwraith boardwalk, which is set to open before Christmas, and the Diamond Dolly Quarry Lookout is to be upgraded in the new year.

The Nature Parks described the works as part of its ongoing commitment to reduce safety risks and improve public access around Phillip Island.

Projects Coordinator at the Nature Parks, Andrew Dallinger said these upgrades are part of a longer-term capital works program and are an example of successful eco-tourism directly funding public assets.

"We thank the community for their understanding during short-term closures to allow work to be conducted safely and efficiently and ultimately enable long-term safety and benefits for all trail users."
