Riviera Revenge at Berninneit
1 min read

The Phillip Island Movie Club (PIMC) presents Riviera Revenge (2024) on Wednesday October 29 at 7.30pm at Berninneit.

The film is a French comedy, written and directed by Ivan Calberac. This gently accessible family comedy was an audience favourite at the 2025 Alliance Francaise French Film Festival.

Patriarch Francois Meursault (Andre Dusollier) is a retired General whose gruff, authoritarian nature has clearly contributed to the uncomfortable relationship he has with each of his children. François is a former military man who is making the most of his retirement alongside his wife Annie, the only person who seems to be able to put up with his temper and demands. Authoritarian, and uncompromising, he rules his family with an iron fist.

When he discovers that his wife, who he always held in high esteem, cheated on him 40 years ago, he sees only one solution: to file for divorce and confront her former lover who now lives in Nice.

“There is nothing radical about Riviera Revenge, it is a fun filled very typical French farce,” said PIMC Secretary Margaret Byrne.

“We had planned it for our last film of year, but due to planning issues it has been moved to October.”

Please note the film begins at 7.30pm, our new starting time for 2025.

It is a private event and you must present your PIMC membership ticket and your Trybooking receipt to enter. Membership tickets are non-transferrable.

Riviera Revenge runs for one hour and 34 mins and is rated M.
