Road blitz in Bass Coast

Roads across Bass Coast will be part of a road blitz by the state government.

Member for Bass, Jordan Crugnale said between now and June 2024, crews will deliver hundreds of projects across some of the region’s busiest and most important trade and travel routes.

Local roads in the blitz include the Bass Highway between Pier Road Grantville and Grantville to Koonwarra – Inverloch Road, Pound Creek.

The South Gippsland Highway, Between Lang Lang Golf Club, Lang Lang, and Korumburra South Road, Korumburra is also on the list.

Other projects include Inverloch-Venus Bay Road, Tarwin Lower Road, Fish Creek-Foster Road and Korumburra-Warragul Road.

“We are continuing to repair and rebuild roads that regional Victorians rely on most, including in our area and across Gippsland,” Ms Crugnale said.

“Last year was one of Victoria’s wettest years on record and it’s caused unprecedented damage to roads right across the state – that’s why we’re investing $6.6 billion as part of a 10-year maintenance masterplan for Victoria’s roads.”

She said the blitz will include potholes repaired, roadside grass mowing and signage replacement.

Maintenance work will include strengthening bridges, rebuilding culverts and retaining walls and inspecting and maintaining traffic lights, signs and other structures.
