Roads slow as holiday makers arrive
On December 28 there was a long queue of cars coming onto Phillip Island, as the summer holiday season started in earnest.

The holiday makers arrived, and so did the usual traffic snarls, with many commuters reporting slow trips onto and around Phillip Island.

On December 28, one traveller said it took almost 50 minutes to drive from the Bass service station to San Remo at 2pm.

Generally the traffic was reported as "bumper to bumper", during the day.

As always, traffic was lighter before 10am and after 5pm.

There were no major traffic accidents reported on the island over the Christmas period.

Anyone travelling in the middle of day is advised to have water and snacks in the car and to factor in delays due to traffic congestion.
