Round 2 of Vic Open series complete
Ava Holland and Steve Noble took top honours over the weekend at the Vic Open Series.
Ava Holland (Mornington Peninsula) and Steve Noble (Cape Paterson) took top honours at Phillip Island over the weekend at Round 2 of the Victorian Open Series.
Vying for the title of State Champion and a coveted spot in the Rip Curl Pro Trials, surfers were greeted with fun albeit challenging waves all day at Cape Woolamai.
Holland finished the final with a heat total of 11.83 (out of a possible 20), to best Round 1 winner Emily McGettigan (Torquay) who finished on 7.23 points.
Finishing in third and fourth were Sara Hickson (Mornington Peninsula) and Sophie Wilkinson (Mornington Peninsula).
Steve Noble showed his intimate knowledge of Cape Woolamai in the final finishing with 14.20 points ahead of in-form surfer Lucas Hickson (Mornington Peninsula). Hickson held the two highest heat total of the day, however could not score enough in the final to best Noble.
Finishing in third and fourth was Jack Basset (Barwon Heads) and Isiah Norling (Barwon Heads).

The series will now head to the Mornington Peninsula for the final round of the series on March 17.
