San Remo gears up for Good Friday
A Trivia Night on March 14 is the start of the San Remo fundraisers for the Good Friday Appeal, which also includes Walk for the Kids, the annual Fishing Competition and CFA volunteers collecting donations in the street - seen here from last year's event.

Fundraising

San Remo kicks off its Good Friday Appeal fundraising with a Trivia Night this weekend.

The Trivia Night at the San Remo Recreation Centre on March 14, will raise money for the Walk for the Kids, and is organised by the San Remo Hotel.

Get your friends together and book a table, or just book a single seat at a mixed table.

Games and prizes will be scattered throughout the rounds and there's a bar for drinks and alcohol (No BYO).

Bring along your own food and nibbles for your table to enjoy.

Doors open at 6pm, for a 7pm start.

Book now via the QR code or at: www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1525176

Walk for the Kids

Put your best foot forward and raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital, by signing up for the George Bass Walk for the Kids on Good Friday, April 3.

Organised by a team of volunteers and the San Remo Hotel, and supported by local businesses, all proceeds go to the Good Friday Appeal.

There is a choice of two events.

The first is a 7.5 kilometre walk along the stunning George Bass Coastal Walk, starting in Kilcunda and ending at Punch Bowl Road. Shuttle buses run from the San Remo Hotel from 9am onwards.

The second event is the three-kilometre San Remo Town Walk, which is suitable for families and prams. Finish before 2pm to go in the running to win an Easter hamper.

Throughout the day there is entertainment, kids' games and live music at the San Remo Hotel, as well as raffles and a silent auction.

You can register on the day from 8am at the San Remo Hotel, via the QR code, or online at www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1536241

Fishing competition

The annual Easter Fishing Competition, organised by Jim's Bait and Tackle is back, running from April 3 to April 6.

There are plenty of prizes to be won, including lucky entry prize draws and adult and junior categories.

Running for the past decade, this family-friendly competition is hugely popular and is a great way to relax on the water for a great cause.

All entry fees go to the Good Friday Appeal.

Find out more at the Jim's Bait and Tackle Australia Facebook page.

CFA

The San Remo CFA will also be holding its annual street walk on Good Friday, with volunteers and vehicles, complete with sirens, visiting San Remo, Cape Woolamai, Newhaven, Surf Beach and Sunderland Bay.

Handing out Easter eggs for the kids, they'll be accepting cash and EFTPOS donations.
