San Remo will remember
Community members are invited to join a Remembrance Day service at San Remo.
Visitors and members of the San Remo/Newhaven communities are invited to join a Remembrance Day service on Saturday November 11, at 10.45am.
The gathering will be at the Cenotaph on the foreshore opposite the San Remo supermarket.
South Gippsland Legacy’s Jane Ross will deliver a brief address on decorated war hero Lieutenant General Sir Stanley Savige, who founded Legacy 100 years’ ago.
There will be an opportunity to lay flowers, a wreath and poppies.
In line with San Remo tradition, the Westernport Hotel will take its turn at providing refreshments after the commemoration.
