New toolkit from Lifeline

Lifeline has launched a new service designed to reach help seekers who aren’t ready to talk to someone else about their situation, or simply prefer to manage things themselves first.

The new Support Toolkit is full of practical information in plain language, as well as the best curated tools, apps, techniques and services to help individuals take the next step in their wellbeing journey.

New container deposit scheme

The Victorian beverage container recycling scheme will begin on November 1.

Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme, CDS Vic, will have VicReturn as the Scheme Coordinator and Visy, TOMRA Cleanaway and Return-It as Network Operators.

Victorians can return their used drink cans, bottles and cartons for a 10-cent refund.

Charities, community groups, environmental groups, sporting clubs and educational organisations will be able to receive container donations from the community, run a refund collection point or host a container collection drive.

Nominate your favourite footy playing farmer

Nominate a local football playing farmer for “Footy’s Favourite Farmer”.

The Country Club Hub has recently launched an online competition for local footy’s favourite farmer. There are tens of thousands of prizes on offer to support safety on the farm, the farmers’ home football netball club and the individual.

Entries close on July 26, at the conclusion of Farm Safety Week 2023.

The major prize, sponsored by Worksafe is $10,000 towards safety improvements for the winning farmer’s property and $10,000 towards safety improvements for the winning farmer’s football netball club. Monthly prizes will also be awarded.
