TAC and sports club
Applications are open for this year’s TAC Club Rewards Program.
The program is a key feature of the TAC’s 32-year partnership with AFL Victoria, and rewards grassroots football and netball clubs with up to $10,000 for their efforts to promote road safety in their clubs and local communities.
The TAC Club Rewards Program will encourage clubs to start conversations about the dangers of distracted driving, and the importance of remaining focused on the road.
The program is open for applications until August and more information is available at www.aflvic.com.au/TACClubRewards
Farmer feedback sought to improve farm safety
The Victorian Farmers Federation’s Making our Farms Safer Project (VFF MOFS) is calling for farmer feedback to gauge the impact of the ‘Making our Farm Families Safer’ campaign, which aims to improve the safety of children on farms.
VFF President Emma Germano is urging farmers to complete a short anonymous survey that will be used to inform future campaigns and help reduce tragedy from striking Victorian farming families.
The two-minute survey can be completed here at www.makingourfarmssafer.org.au and is open until May 23.
Digital licenses on the way
A digital driver licence trial will start in July in Ballarat, ahead of a state-wide roll out by 2024.
The new technology will give motorists the choice to store a secure digital version of their driver licence in the Service Victoria app or soon-to-be-launched my VicRoads app.
The card will feature superior security features – with the licence updated in real time in response to any changes such as new licence conditions or a change of address.
Digital licences will automatically reveal if a licence has been revoked or suspended but will still be available for use to prove identity or age when it is not active.
