Senior of the Year

Nominations are open for the 2026 Victorian Senior of the Year Awards.
Victorians are encouraged to nominate seniors who are making a real difference in their communities.

There are six categories of awards in 2026:
• The Premier's Award for Victorian Senior of the Year for outstanding and lasting contributions
• The Council on the Ageing (COTA) Victoria Senior Achiever Award for local community champions
• The Emerging Impact Award recognising new volunteers that are already making an impact
• The Positive Ageing Award for promoting positive and active ageing
• The Promotion of Multiculturalism Award for advancing cultural diversity
• The Veteran Community Award for service to the veteran community.

Adult Education scholarships

Applications are open for the $4.5 million Adult Community Education (ACE) Scholarships Program.

The scholarships range from $500 to $20,000 and can be used for course fees and other expenses such as books, internet access and living expenses.

Foundation skills, including language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills are essential for work and participating in the community.

The scholarships cover courses and qualifications offered at Park Orchards Community House & Learning Centre, Chisholm Institute, Charles Sturt University and Victoria University.

HESTA Early childhood education awards

Nominations are open for the 2026 HESTA Early Childhood Education & Care Awards, across three categories: Advancing Pedagogy & Practice, Individual Leadership, and Outstanding Service, with a prize on offer for the winner of each category.
