No rainchecks on ragwort control
After large spring rainfalls, Gippsland landholders are being urged to undertake control works on declared invasive weeds such as ragwort, blackberry and thistle species.
Agriculture Victoria said undertaking early control measures when there is a break in wet conditions will make a difference to the growth and spread of invasive weeds.
Local biosecurity officers are getting the jump on noxious weeds, working with landowners in Bass Coast to assess weed infestations, particularly ragwort.
Further information about weed identification and control measures can be found on the Agriculture Victoria website www.agriculture.vic.gov.au or by calling the Customer Service Centre on 136 186.
