Rehome and care for pets
Round 14 of the Animal Welfare Fund Grants is now open, to help organisations across Victoria care for and rehome animals.
Funding will also support organisations providing animal relief facilities and services during emergencies.
Grants of up to $100,000 are available for animal shelters, foster care networks and organisations promoting responsible pet ownership, while not-for-profit and low-cost veterinary services can apply for grants of up to $200,000 to improve access to veterinary care.
Applications close Monday November 3. For more information and to apply, visit agriculture.vic.gov.au
Insulation discounts
The State Government is expanding the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program, giving households upfront discounts to insulate their ceilings and save more than $400 a year on energy bills.
Victorians can access discounts of up to $1500 in metropolitan Melbourne and $2100 in regional Victoria.
Every upgrade must be carried out by an accredited provider using installers certified by the Energy Efficiency Council, with mandatory electrical safety and installer assessments completed before work begins.
