It's not your usual circus coming to Archies Creek on February 3 when the SnarskiCircusLindyBand plays, but ringmaster Rob Snarski admits it does take "some juggling" to get the all-star line-up together.

Alongside Rob (Blackeyed Susans), the band features Go-Betweens Lindy Morrison on drums, joined by 'Evil' Graham Lee [Triffids/pedal steel], guitarist Shane O'Mara [Rebecca's Empire/Chris Wilson/Silversound] and Dan Kelly [musical savant and nephew of Paul] on bass.

A musical supergroup of sorts, the band released their debut mini album "Someone Said That Someone Said" in 2023 and have played shows around the country to support the release.

However many of the gigs have featured just Rob and Lindy, so it is a rare and wonderful occasion for the entire band to get together and travel down the highway to entertain the Archies Creek crowd.
"It isn't easy getting everyone together," Rob said, with band members spread across Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Castlemaine and Sydney.

"It takes a lot of juggling – that's why I called it the circus.

"The core is me and Lindy – this is our main thing. Everyone else has other projects that take up a lot of time, either solo or playing in other bands.

"It's like an extinct animal, with rare sightings ... like the Tasmanian tiger."

The Archies Creek show is part of a summer series, including performing at the Malthouse on February 2, before Lindy and Rob take off to play as "Snarski and Morrison and Friends" in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney.

There's also plans afoot to head back into the studio.

"When Lindy is down here, we have about a week of recording at Shane's studio in Yarraville," Rob explained.

"We're going to release another six track mini album and some of those new songs will appear in the set."

The setlist at Archies Creek will delve into Rob's vast back catalogue and occasionally throw in a Go-Betweens song.

Vocal duties are also shared between Rob and Dan.

"I'm enjoying more and more having other people singing my songs these days," he said.

That enjoyment will be shared with the audience – so don't miss your chance for a rare sighting of the SnarskiCircusLindyBand.

Archies Creek Hotel, Saturday February 3. Doors open 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
