Sophie - queen of the waves!

Phillip Island’s Sophie Fletcher has been crowned the Victorian Open Women’s State Champion.
Fellow-islanders Harry de Roth, Poppy Corbett and Cody Jeffrey were also named in the state titles announced by Surfing Victorian this week.
“On behalf of Surfing Victoria, I would like to congratulate all state champions in 2020,” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.
“It was one of the most challenging years on record and we look forward to having a more normal 2021!”
Sophie secured the title ahead of Mia Huppatz from Jan Juc.
Harry de Roth was runner up in the Open Men’s, while Poppy Corbett and Codie Jeffrey were placed second in the Under 18 girls and boys titles respectively.
In a shortened season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Junior and Open Shortboard series were able to complete two events.
Due to the inability to complete a full round of the Longboard Titles, no State Longboard Champions will be crowned in 2020.
The Victorian Bodyboard Titles also had a shortened season due to the pandemic and was able to complete two events prior to the lockdown.
Unfortunately the Victorian Kneeboard Titles (managed by Kneeboard Surfing Victoria) was unable to crown state champions in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The Victorian SUP Titles was also unable to be run in 2020 due to the lockdowns in Victoria.
