Recently, the Phillip Island Croquet Club's blue team travelled to Morwell to contest the Gippsland Croquet Association 2023/24 Golf Croquet Pennant final against Sale.

This was only the second time a Phillip Island golf croquet team had played in a final, the last one being during 2007/07 season - which Phillip Island won.

The Phillip Island players were enthusiastic and their expectations were high hoping that they could break the finals drought.

Play commenced at 9.30am and all games were hotly contested and extremely close.

Despite the Phillip Island team playing some great croquet, the Sale team proved to be just too strong.

After all scores were tallied, the Sale team was declared the winner and the top golf croquet team for the Gippsland Croquet Association 2023/24 season.

Congratulations to the Sale team and well done to the Phillip Island blue team who had a great season but just couldn't outplay Sale in the final.
