Chasing Wonthaggi's healthy total of 170, openers Kohen Beaumont and Henry Peppard made a solid start.
Despite some hostile fast bowling from Wonthaggi's Jarvis Harvey, Kohen and Henry controlled the pace of the game.
Batting with patience, they left deliveries wide of the off stump and worked balls into gaps, when opportunities presented.
Getting through the openers, the game began to open up. Kohen began to find the boundary and Henry continued to work the ball and rotate the strike.
When their partnership reached 77 runs in the 22nd over, Henry was bowled by Chisholm, but a solid platform had been set.
From there Kohen Beaumont took control, finding the boundary six times on his way to a well compiled 70 retired.
Unfortunately, wickets continued to fall at the other end, with the lower order being overwhelmed by fast, accurate bowling by Harvey and the other opener Williamson.
It was a solid contest throughout the morning and despite being dismissed for 146, there were a number of positives to take from the game. Kohen Beaumont recorded what was surely one of the best junior performances in the club's history.
Taking a hatrick last week and recording figures of 5 overs 2 maidens 4 for 6, Kohen then reached compulsory retirement with the bat, making a patient 70 not out.
A game to be remembered, congratulations Kohen!

Drew Fusinato took a great wicket helped by great fielding by Sam Bennett. Immediately afterward, Harry Arceo bowled another batsman. Jake Hughes kept extremely well restricting the number of byes.
The sharks needed 58 to win.
George McCausland retired on 27, Sam Bennett got unlucky and got bowled for 13. Xavier Godena batted well, making a well-earned 15.
There was a mix-up between wickets as Drew Fusinato got run out for 5. Harry Arceo batted like a genius, as he fought his way to 25*.
Justin Tran looked set for a big total before he got bowled and Zack Hughes scored more runs than his older brother as he finished the innings on 3 not out.

Phillip Island versed Inverloch Blue.
This week the baby Sharks had the luxury of a home game on a perfect night for cricket. The Cowes oval was looking a treat and the boys turned up nice and early which made for a bit of fun before we started.
As our squad has grown since pre-season, after Xmas we will be splitting in to two teams.
In order to manage for the next two weeks, it has been decided to have half the boys bat their full four overs each and the other boys get to bowl three to four overs each and then swapping next week.
This week’s captain AB fired the boys with a well-rehearsed speech that inspired all that heard.
Inverloch were sent into bat and we had some ripping spells of bowling from Arch Cameron, Arch Williams, Bryce Lawrence, Bud Marshall, Jacko Allan and Jai Lacombe who all benefited from getting several overs each. Our field was on their toes and not letting anything past for the full 20 overs which was great to see.
Once it was time to bat it was easy to see the lads that were fresh and ready to go with so many singles and twos run for our full 20 overs.
Our generals in Hazza Bentley, Ollie Parsons, Duke Lawrence and Zac and Ryan Hughes showed their class with the bat, but it was awesome to see our first-year players in Ethan Tilley, Kobe Vanberlo, Arch Cox, Cub Cantwell and Sai Sadhubugga racking up the runs with ease!
The lollies and zooper doopers always taste sweeter when we have a good night of cricket against a quality team in Inverloch.
Next week we play our last game before our Xmas break against Bass at Bass.
