Big week on the field for junior Dogs - U14 Blue
1 min read

The Phillip Island Doggies hosted the second placed Inverloch-Kongwak Sea Eagles, at the kennel.

From the first bounce, the Sea Eagles were here to play.

I'm not sure what's in the water down there, but Phillip Island needs to look into it.

Four kids over six feet were proving difficult to contain.

Hayden, Sammy O and Levi had a challenge ahead of them to clear the ball.

Good work resulted in a goal for Heater, after a quick clearance from the centre.

Invy replied with three of their own, to lead at the change by 12.

The second quarter saw the Doggies up and about.

Great defensive work by Ollie, Mr Dependable, The General, Al and Mr Football saw a change in fortunes.

Heater was everywhere, kicking four goals for the quarter.

Flynny Dengerink moved well at centre half forward and with "MadDog" and Kai "The juggler" Cashman delivering good kicks into the forward line, the Doggies were up by five at the change.

The third quarter was on.

Strong work by Riley Herbert, Zane Matthews and Phillip Island's own Lionel MESSI, Marley Cabello, moved the ball around with skill.

A whack to the knee saw Duke Lawrence sidelined for a spell.

Bryce Lawrence took a great mark and a great delivery had Sammy O grab a goal for himself.

The wind picked up in the last quarter and Invy took their chance.

Invy piled on three goals to one point in the last to close out the game.

Sammy Fairthorne and Cub Cantwell battled hard and put their bodies on the line to win a great contest, but Invy was too strong, winning by 21.

Best on: Heater, Sammy O, Cub, Kai, Al and Ollie.
