Phillip Island’s Under 17s stepped up under finals pressure, defeating Tooradin 33–21 in wet conditions at Inverloch to progress to the next stage.
It was a hard-fought opening, but the Islanders stayed composed and chipped away across the quarters to build a steady lead.
Aisha and Ava were reliable in goals, finishing well despite the slippery ball.
Ellie directed play confidently through the centre, while Piper added speed and drive in midcourt.
Macy also came on to help out in wing attack, providing fresh energy and support.
In defence, Olivia was outstanding in goal defence, with Kate, Jasira and Tilly combining strongly to close down Tooradin’s attacking options and force turnovers.
Their efforts gave the shooters plenty of opportunities to stretch the margin and keep the Islanders in control.
By the final whistle, Phillip Island had secured a strong 33–21 victory and a place in the preliminary final, against Nar Nar Goon.
