Phillip Island Blue, travelled down the highway to face off against the Kilcunda/Bass Panthers.
The Doggies again, had a few outs due to illness, so some late changes were made.
The first quarter was off with a bang, with Hayden Power, Sammy O, Henhouse and Ollie Bain moving the ball out quickly.
A classic Heater snap resulted in the first goal within 30 seconds.
A similar process resulted in the next and the Doggies were up and about.
Maxy Jess, was strong off the half back line, forcing the ball forward at every opportunity, supported well by Jesse Moshetti, Sam Fairthorne and Jem "Mad Dog" Hennekam.
Doggies were well up at the change.
The second quarter saw Killy/Bass kicking with the wind, and they started moving the ball a bit better.
The Doggies rallied and moved the ball out of the backline well, keeping the pressure on.
Flynn Dengerink and Hayden POW kicked goals, to keep the doggies clear.
The third quarter showed the doggie’s poise.
Sammy O moved to full forward with a supposed groin injury, but he managed to kick six goals whilst there.
Go figure!
Riley Herbert snapped truly and Kai "The Captain" Cashman kicked a good goal, helped by Joe "The General '' Kelsy, had the Doggies flying. Zane Matthews threw out some great handpasses, resulting in good opportunities for the forwards.
Heading into the last, the Doggies had the game in hand. Heath Bowen was moved to centre half back, and that's about where every Killy/Bass drive stopped.
Mr Dependable, Cub Cantwell, Lewy De Fazio, Marley Cabello and Levi Addison teamed up well, forcing the ball forward at every chance.
The Doggies finished well ahead of the trying Panthers. A great team game by the Doggies.
