U16

The U16 lads were ready to get back on the winners list this week against Dalyston.

It was a dominant first quarter, but the boys were unable to capitalise on the score board, kicking seven behinds.

After the first break the lads were determined to get the scoreboard ticking over.

Captain Sam O’Garey got the first goal for the island and the dominance continued through the second quarter.

All the play coming off the backline with Felix and Archie reading the ball well and Ethan Rhee running havoc in the midfield.

A four goal second quarter saw the Island lead by five goals at half time.

After the half time break a steady third quarter saw the Island continue to keep the pressure on.

Jack and Hayden took control in the midfield and gave our forwards first look every time.

Goals to Caleb, Lewis and Sam saw Phillip Island increase their lead.

Heading into the last quarter with a 40-point lead, the confidence grew as the lads were able to continue hitting the scoreboard.

Jacko was able to kick his first goal of the year along with Archer.

The backline held incredibly strong only giving up one goal for the entire game.

Goal kickers: Caleb Cantwell 3, Sam O’Garey 2, Jackson Allan, Lewis De Fazio, Levi Addison and Archi Bailey-Cox 1.
