Last round of football saw the under 16s play at home against inverloch.
Perfect morning for footy, and the lads were fired up and ready to go. A goal to Caleb Cantwell saw us kick the first goal day. Inverloch fired straight back with a goal of their own. Back and forth for the first quarter but Inverloch were able to capitalise on their chance and had a 28-12 lead at the end of the first.
A cracking 2nd quarter by Phillip island saw us kick 4 goals straight to 2 goals and were only down by 4 points at the half time break. Great defensive effort by Joe Kelsey, Max Jess and Bud Marshall down and Jackson Allan on the wing.
After the half time break Phillip island had plenty of chances but were only able to kick 3 behinds. Our midfield group of Ry Scott, Hayden Power, Sam OGarey and Ethan Rhee were really pushing hard to get the ball forward. Felix Bathgate and Levi Addison were playing great footy down forward. At the end of the 3rd it was a 9 point margin to Inverloch.
The last quarter saw us have another 4 behinds and we weren’t able to capitalise on the scoreboard. A massive effort to only go down by 11 points to 3rd placed Inverloch. Plenty of positives and confidence for next weekends first final against Tooradin.
