Start the New Year at Archies Creek
Mick Thomas' Roving Commission play the Archies Creek Hotel on January 1.
Christmas is just around the corner and there's a busy few weeks ahead, but don't miss your chance for a perfect New Year's Day.
In what's becoming an annual tradition, Mick Thomas' Roving Commission play the Archies Creek Hotel on January 1. What better way to kick off 2026.
The ARIA-Award winning former Weddings Parties Anything singer/songwriter and his band of fellow travellers have released a new album "GoComeBack" to coincide with a short run of tours, which winds up in the beer garden of the Archies Creek Hotel on New Year's Day.
Joining Mick and his band on the Archies Creek stage will be Hana and Jessie-Lee's Bad Habits, Danny Walsh Banned and Queen of Hearts Mariachi, with Ian Bland as MC for the afternoon.
The new album was recorded in Auckland at Neil Finn's Roundhead Studios with award-winning producer Steven Scram.
"GoComeBack" is a pidgin Indonesian term for return journey.
The album features the full Roving Commission six-piece line-up that includes Dave Foley (Tex Perkins, The Killjoys), Ben Franz (the Waifs, Matt Walker, Tim Rogers), Jen Anderson (violin) and the ever present understated keys and accordions of Mark Squeezebox Wally.
Mick's vocals are supported and complimented by the spirited counterpoint of Brooke Taylor.
Promising a New Year's Day Fiesta of tunes, tacos and tequila, tickets to this final show of the tour are sure to sell fast.
Doors open at 2.30pm and the show kicks off at 3pm.
