Startup Gippsland 2022 Bootcamp
Gippslanders interested in starting a business will have the opportunity to attend a Startup Gippsland Bootcamp.
Gippslanders interested in starting a business will have the opportunity to attend a Startup Gippsland Bootcamp on Saturday November 5 at the Morwell Innovation Centre to help them test their business ideas and develop a business plan for success.
Starting a business can be daunting, with most new business ideas not working out. Having the right expert support is crucial to success. According to Investopedia, the two biggest causes of new business failure are not testing the market, and business plan problems –both are things that Startup Gippsland aims to prevent.
The Startup Gippsland Bootcamp is designed for people just starting out in business, or for existing businesses that want to test new product or service ideas. It will help them to test their business ideas with potential customers, evaluate which ideas are likely to succeed, develop a one-page business plan (Lean Canvas), create a sales and marketing strategy to get their business off the ground, and get feedback from experienced business advisers on their business idea and next steps.
Attendees will also connect with Startup Gippsland’s community of like-minded entrepreneurs and mentors who can provide the support network that every business owner needs to succeed.
Bootcampers will be inspired as they hear from local female founder and 2022 Business Igniter program alumni, Kate Ginnivan of Silver Penned Writing Studio, as she shares her experience of validating and launching her own Gippsland business, and shares advice on running a successful startup in regional Victoria.
Feedback from one of our past Bootcamp participants was: “My family noticed that I was sounding more confident about my business idea after just attending the bootcamp … I can’t wait to see what they say after I’ve gone through the rest of the Startup Gippsland program!”
“Gippsland’s traditional industries like coal and timber are experiencing rapid change,” said Dr Elena Kelareva, founder and Program Director of Startup Gippsland.
“Gippsland needs more new businesses to create jobs of the future and help grow resilient local economies. Programs like Startup Gippsland help entrepreneurs create new successful businesses to support both their own careers, and create future jobs for the entire Gippsland community.”
Glenn Dawson of The Only Straw from Bass Coast shire, was a Startup Gippsland participant in 2020.
“I learned so much in scaling my business from the get-go, how to grow the right connections, the importance of marketing correctly and the legal side of running a company
“If you want to turn your side hustle into a scalable, high growth business, listen, learn and grow with Startup Gippsland.”
The 2022 Startup Gippsland Bootcamp will be held on Saturday November 5 at the Morwell Innovation Centre. Tickets can be booked via startupgippsland.com.au
