Stitched up! Cup Weekend display returns

Phillip Island Patchworkers will be showcasing quilts and associated crafts at the Annual Cup Weekend Patchwork Display.

The display will be open from Saturday November 4, through to Tuesday, November 7 from 10am to 4pm at the Newhaven Hall, in Cleeland Street, Newhaven.

Admission is $5 with all proceeds going directly to local emergency services to contribute to their fabulous community support

There will be the many fine patchwork quilts and other items made by the group’s of talented members.

Also on display will be wonderful work produced by the Wonthaggi Woodcrafters.

There will be a trading table with lots of goodies to purchase, and a delicious Devonshire Tea available for $5.

Jeanette Clark from Patchwork Maze will have a shop set up where you can purchase a range of patchwork fabrics, patterns and accessories.

Jeanette is a great supporter of the island’s Patchwork group and every year organises a pattern and donates the fabric for members to create the exhibition’s raffle quilts.

Members will also be sewing quilts for our Comfort Quilt program which will be donated to community members in need.

“Our love of craft and friendship is what brings us together,” said a group spokesperson.

“We all enjoy what we do, we like to share skills and of course have a chat.

“We have a Saturday “Sit and Sew” on the first Saturday of the month at Newhaven Hall and it is very popular.

“BYO lunch and mug. Cost is $4.

“Come along and join in the fun and friendship – new members are warmly welcomed.”
