Students launch Live4Life
Students at Bass Coast College’s San Remo campus launched the Live4Life program.
Students at Bass Coast College’s San Remo campus launched the Live4Life program – a program focused on mental health.
All Year 8 students at Bass Coast College will be trained in Mental Health First aid during Term 4.
A ‘Crew” of Year 9 students from six schools across Bass Coast and South Gippsland have become champions for mental health within their community.
The theme for 2022 is “Self-care is not selfish”.
The program is being run across Bass Coast and South Gippsland and includes Bass Coast College, Mary MacKillop, Korumburra, Leongatha, Mirboo North and Foster Secondary Colleges

The Live4Life model delivers targeted, evidence-based mental health education and peer-led health promotion activities for the students, as well as training to adults in their lives to ensure they have the skills and confidence to respond when needed most.
Adults, including parents, teachers and others, also undergo Mental Health First Aid training.
Over time, the critical mass of Live4Life alumni influences broader community attitudes and behaviours relating to mental illness, creating sustainable and long-lasting generational change.
