Summer by the Sea back for the school holidays
Summer by the Sea is an annual program delivered by Coastcare Victoria.
A Hooded Plover beach walk at Cape Woolamai and exploring wetlands and coastal saltmarsh in Newhaven are part of this year’s Summer by the Sea program.
The theme for this year’s program, which runs throughout January, is Coastal Connections.
Everyone is encouraged to get online and check out the program over the summer holidays running between January 4 and February 5.
With a mixture of in person and online events, everyone can connect with the coast, wherever they are across the state.
Videos will be presented with captions in English and several other languages. Bookings for coastal walks and live online events are essential.
Summer by the Sea is an annual program delivered by Coastcare Victoria with the support of providers including government agencies, local experts and volunteer groups.
“The month-long program offers a variety of free activities exploring the rich and diverse natural and cultural values of Victoria’s coastal and marine environments,” said Laura Town-Hopkinson,
Coastcare Victoria Facilitator.
“Get involved in person, or from home and immerse yourself in our wonderful coasts. With more in person accessible events, this year’s Summer by the Sea program has something for everyone.”
