The Sunday Summer Sessions return to Phillip Island from January 29. This free event will feature local acts performing on the picturesque grounds of Churchill Island, against its breathtaking oceanic backdrop.
Locals and visitors alike are welcome to the Sunday Summer Sessions, which are set to run on the front lawn once a month until March.
No ticket is required to enjoy the summery ambience at the event, running between 2pm and 5pm, with delicious food treats and beverages (available) to keep the good vibes flowing.
The first afternoon of music will begin on Sunday January 29 and presents local versatile duo The Times, who play a range of music from past to present.
In February and March, the line-up moves the spotlight onto the acoustic tones from a Phillip Island singer and guitarist, Dann Lunn.
Organised by Phillip Island Nature Parks, Sunday Summer Sessions are running on the same luscious green lawn as Ocean Sounds, a music-lovers all-day sunset concert series.
Churchill Island, with its characteristic panoramic views, will again be transformed into an unforgettable but casual performance space. The family-friendly event provides a chance to make the most of the summer air and laze away the end of the weekend.
With a long and interesting history, Churchill Island is a meaningful site for the Boonwurrung / Bunurong. With heritage buildings from the 1800s, a working farm and a vast array of birdlife, the island is a special place to many.
Visitors will also find 240 heritage-listed trees and the first European garden in Victoria, so there is no shortage of green spaces to explore while visiting.
For those who cannot help but fall in love with the unique and historical grounds, the Friends of Churchill Island Society (FOCIS) is always open to new members.
Summertime is a beautiful season to make the most of Phillip Island, with abundant sunshine and a buzz of activity. This event on iconic Churchill Island will be a moment to slow down and soak up cool tunes, tasty food, delicious drinks, and good company.
