Surfing goes online

Phillip Island’s Sage Goldsbury is leading the field in the Australian Junior Online Surf Championships.

Finalists were announced this week for the 2020 Championships, with Sage in the number one spot for the Under 18 Women division.

The event hosted 162 of Australia’s top junior surfers in a head-to-head online surfing competition.

Surfers who qualified for the national titles through respective state titles were invited to enter the online event.

Competitors submitted videos of waves which were then assessed by the judges.

Wave submissions for the final are open until midnight on Tuesday, December 8.

Winners will be announced on December 10.
