Surfing
Sophie through to quarter finals

Sophie Fletcher has made it through to the quarter finals of the Phillip Island Pro Women's competition, after a challenging day in the water.

Phillip Island's other surfer, Sage Goldsbury was knocked out in the round of 16, coming up against top seed Sophie McCulloch.

In the Men's, Phillip Island's Harry de Roth has made it through to the round of 16.

Sophie and Harry are the two remaining local surfers in the competition.

The organisers described today's conditions as challenged after an increase in swell and wind over night.

In the Men's division, Marlon Harrison earned the highest single wave score of 8.25, while once again Sophie McCulloch topped the women's single wave score with an 8 point ride.
