Tech gong for shire
The shire’s OneCouncil Transformation Project was awarded the Local Digital Initiative of the Year gong.
A technology award has been given to Bass Coast Shire.
The shire’s OneCouncil Transformation Project was awarded the Local Digital Initiative of the Year gong at the GovMedia Awards.
The project provided Bass Coast residents and visitors with 24/7 interaction with council, with an online customer portal and also supported more efficient and flexible working for council staff.
Acting CEO Greg Box said the project made council a 24/7 service, with residents able to engage “on any issue that is important to them, whether it’s planning, the environment, a community group, or making a rate or animal registration payment”.
“OneCouncil allows customers to put through a request anywhere, anytime, and allows us to then take that request and connect it with so many other processes and requests throughout Council,” he said.
“We’re able to support flexible and remote working, people can work anywhere at any time, which better suits their needs. It allows our employees to focus on doing more value-add work for our customers,” said Greg.
