Telstra 5G rollout in Cowes
Telstra has started the rollout of Telstra 5G on Phillip Island, with its first two 5G sites now on air.
Telstra has started the roll-out of Telstra 5G on Phillip Island and has announced its first two 5G sites here are now on air.
Telstra Regional General Manager Loretta Willaton said that further upgrades and roll-outs are planned in other areas on Phillip Island and Bass Coast over the coming weeks.
“We’ve switched on the first Telstra 5G sites on Phillip Island, bringing our new network to Cowes locals and visitors for the first time,” Ms Willaton said.
“Additional Telstra 5G coverage means more customers with 5G devices can get faster download speeds and enjoy greater capacity during busy periods on the mobile network.”
The company has made a commitment to roll out its 5G network to 75 per cent of Australia’s population by the end of June.
Ms Willaton said the roll-out in regional areas, including Cowes, will also improve capacity and speeds for Telstra’s existing 4G customers.
