The future of Western Port
Experts will meet this Sunday (July 19) at a public meeting to discuss the current state of Western Port, its challenges and solutions.
The Phillip Island Conservation Society and Preserve Western Port Action Group have organised the meeting at Berninneit at 1pm.
Speakers include marine biologist Sheree Marris, who is currently producing the Western Port Down Under documentary, Western Port Biosphere Foundation CEO Mel Barker, science educator Mike Cleeland, RMIT environmental stress researcher Dr David Sharley, and Victorian National Parks Association's Shannon Hurley.
The meeting will highlight the threats facing the bay particularly from developments such as the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal and the strategy for future development at Port of Hastings.
