The magazine won Best Special Publication for Victoria and nationally at the Country Press Awards.

The Island wins back-to-back awards
The Island magazine won the Victorian Country Press Association award for Best Special Publication, then took out the national category as well. The Advertiser's graphic designer Staffan Hakansson and editor Eleanor McKay, with David Van Coller from Google News Initiative, who sponsored the National Awards.
