Visit Gippsland - The Village Feast
The Village Feast sees Melbourne Food & Wine Festival transform a tiny Gippsland village (that would be Thorpdale) into a one-off culinary destination, taken over by Gippsland producers and supported by some of Australia’s biggest hospitality names.
Take West Gippsland’s world-class produce, wine-makers and restauranteurs, throw in a smattering of lush waterfalls and dreamy hillscapes, wrap it all up in the stylish signature touch of Melbourne Food & Wine Festival... and you have a weekend worth travelling for.
The festival kicks off with The Village Feast a two-day (11am - 5pm, 19-20 November) festival in picturesque Thorpdale, packed with exciting snacking and drinking that showcases the produce and drinks. There are pop-up food outlets from chefs including interstate talent such as Danielle Alvarez (late of Fred’s) and Tasmanian author and chef Analiese Gregory; a celebration of Gippsland milk with That’s Amore and Gippsland Jersey; cakes by Mali Bakes; pub favourites at classic Art Deco watering hole The Travellers Rest Hotel; and entertainment including Mia Wray, Grace Cummings and Dorsal Fins on the main stage.
Accompanying The Village Feast are four truly unique, one-off events:
- Embla x Hogget Kitchen, Hogget Kitchen, Warragul | Fri 18 Nov
- Gippsland Farmers’ Grazing Brunch, Civic Park, Warragul | Sat 19 Nov
- Provenance, Fire and Wine by Alejandro Saravia, Thorpdale Town Hall, Thorpdale | Sat 19 Nov
