Thrilling victories and unexpected surprises!
This week's darts club news.
In a night filled with excitement, Round 4 of the Spring Darts Series left no room for disappointment, boasting the best turnout we've seen so far.
With all four boards buzzing with action and 32 players giving it their all, the local darts competition was on fire!
The incredible support from both our seasoned members and new players added an extra layer of enthusiasm to the event.
The evening's champions, Snow, Meredith, Will, and Col, sealed their dominance with a resounding 7-0 victory, making sure they'd be remembered for rounds to come.
It was a performance that sent cheers echoing through the venue.
But the thrill didn't stop on the darts oche.
John Battista won the coveted meat tray raffle and in a heartwarming gesture, he generously donated it back and an impromptu auction took place with Scotchy bringing home the bacon – metaphorically, of course!
Of course, what's a darts competition without a beer raffle?
David Healey was the lucky winner of the evening, savouring the taste of victory in more ways than one.
We owe our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors: San Remo Butchers and Blake/La Porchetta, whose generous support keeps the darts community thriving.
In addition to the excitement of the night, the Spring ‘23 Leaderboard had a shakeup.
With four rounds down and four to go, Paul Gleeson took the lead with 23 points, extending his reign as the frontrunner.
Laurie Jones, closely following with 18 points, has certainly not given up the chase.
Tied for the third spot, Allan Stray and Bruce Lindsay, both with 17 points, are ready to make their mark in the rounds to come.
The Spring Darts Series is far from over, and with the competition heating up, who knows what surprises and thrilling victories await in the next rounds?
One thing is certain; the local darts community is alive and well, and it's where all the action is happening this spring!
