On Clean Up Australia day last Sunday six volunteers from the Friends of Scenic Estate Reserve were up and about early.

The team roamed the reserve resplendent in hi-vis vests, each with a bag in hand, for PICS' contribution to Clean Up Australia Day.

The team started at the entry where previous plantings still had their once white guards. Canes and guards that were no longer serviceable were removed, as the team worked their way up to plantings at Picnic Flats.

Other volunteers found an amount of bagged dog waste tossed into the Melaleuca scrub, as well as an old car battery and computer hardware, as well as bottles and can.

The team filled six bags with weathered guards, canes and other refuse found along the way.

A job very well done by all.
