Trees to be lopped to make way for Ventnor-Cowes path

The council has applied for a planning permit to remove 16 large trees and five smaller trees, as well as a total of 1.5 hectares of native vegetation, for the shared Cowes to Ventnor path.

The council is seeking a permit for a path in the road reserve of Ventnor Road from 50m west of the Red Rocks Road intersection to Thompson Avenue, to be built in three stages, totalling about 2km, requiring removal of 16 large trees, five smaller ones and 1.5ha of vegetation.
