U14s gave their all
Another early start for the Under 14 Breakers team and it was all systems go as the team prepared to finish off the season against Korumburra.
Another early start for the Under 14 Breakers team and it was all systems go as the team prepared to finish off the season against Korumburra.
Harvey Jacobs came out flying and was straight into the game with determination and speed.
Captain Fletcher Middleton led by example all over the pitch continually having an impact and going in hard for the ball.
A fast-paced game back and forth saw Burra score the first goal 10 minutess in and the momentum changed.
A quick response from the Breakers and suddenly goals were going through at both ends.
Hamish Farman stepped up and hit two goals in succession in his cool and collected manner setting the crowd alight.
At half time scores were 5-4 in Korumburra’s favour.
Sam Scott and Devlin Rowe held up the defence making sure anytime the ball came into the defensive line it was sent flying back out.
Second half and again the scores were being made at both ends.
Jarvis McDonald put in a courageous and determined effort all game giving it everything he had, and his corner kick in leading to a header goal from Kade Ellaz was magic.
With two minutes to go and scores sitting at 8-6 in Burras favour it was not to be for our Breakers who despite the loss held their heads high.
Sitting on the bench and overhearing the team talk to each other in such a positive manner throughout the game was a credit to the players and their families who have played a key role in this team all season.
While we didn’t finish the way we wanted it was a such an incredible season and we look forward to seeing what’s in store next year.
Special mention to all the amazing families who have supported this team and who are always willing to put their hands up to volunteer around the club.
Thanks, and farewell to Coach Frank Licciardi who after two years of bringing his passion and commitment at the helm of the 14s has relocated to Melbourne.
