Phillip Island started well, taking a narrow lead in the first quarter 9–8, followed by another close second quarter win 5–4, going into half time with momentum.
Warragul came out firing in the third quarter, taking control with a 9–2 run.
The final quarter remained tight, with Warragul edging it 9–8.
