Walk for Bridgy returns
Amanda, Kristal and Kellie will be taking the seven kilometre walk on Sunday, March 20, to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation, in memory of Amanda and Kristal’s father Ian Bridge.

A walk in memory of popular island resident and owner of Mad Cowes Café, Ian Bridge, is being held on March 20.

In February last year, during Ian’s treatment for leukaemia, daughters Kristal and Amanda, along with their friend Kellie from Lioness Fit, organised a walk to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

The event raised over $13,000.

This year, the walk will be in Ian’s memory (he passed away on June 3, 2021), and the women are hoping the community will again show its support for the cause, either by joining them on the seven kilometre walk or making a donation.

The walk along the George Bass Coastal Walk will start at 8.30am at Punchbowl Road and end with a sausage sizzle in Kilcunda.

Registration fee is $50 and includes a Walk4Bridgy t-shirt.

Last year, 80 people took part and Kellie is hoping this year more people will take up the challenge.

You can register at www.lionessfit.com.au/a-walk-for-bridgy.

If you are unable to participate but would like to make a donation, go to fundraise.leukaemia.org.au/fundraisers/AWalk4Bridgy.
