Want 100 per cent renewables?
The Mycelia Energy Collective is a network of households and businesses working to reduce emissions and make locally produced renewable energy available to others.

Alongside competitive 100 per cent renewable energy prices, the Mycelia Energy Collective offers a way for households and businesses – with or without solar – to share locally generated renewable energy.

The collective is currently seeking more households with solar panels to join.

As the membership base grows, so does the need for more renewable energy generation so we can all be 100 per cent renewable.

Solar panels are expensive, and some houses and flats are unsuitable for solar. Rental properties face barriers as well.

Some green energy options aren’t always transparent, usually come at a premium price and many still rely on coal or gas power generation.

Changing our energy sources to clean, renewable energy is best practice to achieving net zero emissions, and everyone should be able to make this choice.

What is the collective?

The Mycelia Energy Collective is a network of households and businesses working to reduce emissions and make locally produced renewable energy available to others.

When joining, members sign up for certified low-cost renewable energy via energy retailer Circular Energy powered by The People’s Grid.

The People’s Grid uses patented technology to share and match the energy that members generate and use.

Energy needed beyond this is provided by other collectives on The People’s Grid, and other certified renewable energy sources.

Everyone who signs up contributes $1 to $3 per week into a community fund to reinvest into more energy efficiency and renewable energy back into our communities.

The collective will roll out a range of other benefits to members including opportunities for bulk buys of solar and batteries, energy assessments and improvements and events to share and learn together.

Ecoliv, a local leader in sustainable housing and registered B-Corp, has partnered with Mycelia as a renewable energy producer for the collective.

Ecoliv will host a solar and battery system to generate energy locally. They will use some and the rest will be shared with the Collective.

How to join

Signing up to the Mycelia Energy Collective takes about five minutes on The People’s Grid website: thepeoplesgrid.com/collectives/mycelia-energy-collective

For people receiving the Vic premium solar feed-in tariff, that transfers with you automatically.

Mycelia Renewables is a registered charity. The Mycelia Energy Collective is funded in part by DEECA’s New Energy Jobs Fund Round 6 and WWF-Australia’s Innovate to Regenerate Program.
