We may dodge water restrictions

Despite the area's primary water storage being just over half full, Westernport Water is cautiously "optimistic" water restrictions can be avoided.

At the end of October, Candowie Reservoir was 52 per cent full, compared to 65 per cent at the same time last year. Water demand again increased compared to the previous calendar year, with customer consumption to the end of September at 1924 million litres (ML), up from 1859 ML in 2024. Despite this, we may avoid water restrictions according to Westernport Water.
