San Remo

The Anzac Day commemoration in San Remo will begin with a march led by a piper.

There hasn't been a march in the town since 2003.

Anzac Day is on a Saturday this year and, urged on by his fellow veterans, John Methven and others organising the event, decided to revive the important tradition.

A Bass Coast Shire Council permit application is underway and the town's SES unit is providing support.

The march will be along the foreshore car park.

Further details will be announced closer to the time.
