Who let the dogs out? Blues come out victorious against Reds in the Under 12 match!

The weather report had us prepared for torrential rain and wind, but we arrived to a perfect dry and sunny day.
The stakes were high with bragging rights up for grabs in the Under 12 Phillip Island derby.
The first quarter was a tough inside game as neither team were prepared to give an inch.
Jaxen Marshall continued great form and provided plenty of run for the Reds.
Bodhi Cooper opened up the scoring for the Blues with a great goal on the run.
The Blues seemed to have quality everywhere as Brax Scheibel and Harvey Paterson stamped their authority on the game early, with long driving kicks into the waiting forwards.
The Blues got on top in the second quarter as they ran hard and worked for each other.
Taj Piera was a rock in defence for the Reds and marked the ball, time and time again as he did his best not to let the opposition through.
It was raining goals for the Blues Brax Scheibel, Kai Denblyden and Harvey Paterson hit the scoreboard.
Flynn Riley tried hard to get the Reds going from the middle as did Archie Dallinger playing off half forward.
The Reds needed a big lift in the third quarter, but The Blues had other ideas.
Kane Patton was everywhere and gone in a flash as he zipped in and exploded out of the contest at pace.
Flynn Doig was at the bottom of every pack and tried desperately to spark his Red team into action.




Goals to Blues stars Brax Scheibel and Harvey Paterson made any chance of a comeback very slim.
Sam Cole started the final quarter with a superb goal for the relentless Blues.
It wasn’t going the Reds way and even the runner was feeling the pinch as Luke ‘The Flash’ Marshall went down with a knee injury.
The Reds showed great heart in the final term facing a big deficit but never gave up.
Reds Captain Callum Chambers once again lead by example as he attacked every contest with one hundred percent commitment.
The Reds forward line did not see much of the ball and a snap goal from Blues speedster Will ‘Wiz” Patton sealed a great victory for a well drilled outfit. Congratulations to the Blue team on a well-rounded team effort.
Also, a big shout out to the coaches and army of volunteers that happily give up their time each week to make sure the kids get to play the game they love.
The Beau Vernon Medal was awarded to a very deserving Harvey Paterson, well done Harvey!
