Further community consultation on Western Port’s proposed wind turbine hub is currently open.

In 2022, the Federal Government declared an offshore wind zone in Gippsland of about 15,000sq km in Commonwealth waters. If approved, the VRET in Western Port would supply wind turbines for this area.
